Participation Criteria

Competency 01 Learning goals

Phase 1. Information gathering

- Learning about the job market in cabinetmaking.

- Learning about the nature and requirements of the trade.

- Learning about training Process.

- Sharing fellow students' initial reactions to the trade and the training process.

Phase 2. Participation

- Presenting the information gathered from meeting with trade specialists and discussing your perception of the trade: advantages, disadvantages, requirements.

- Discussing the skills, aptitudes and knowledge needed to practice the trade.

- Identifying health and safety risks

- Discussing the program of study as it relates to the trade.

Phase 3. Synthesis

- Students will produce a report in which they:

a) sum up your aptitudes and interests with regard to the trade

b) assess your career choice by comparing different aspects and requirements of the trade with their preferences, aptitudes and interests.
