It seems as though if you are a Furniture Finisher living in Quebec, you are more likely to find a job than in other provinces.

DeleteQuébec provides tuition free vocational education (DEP/DVS) to fill the demand in its labour market.
ReplyDeleteI assumed that Aerospace would make up a larger employment % for Furniture Finishing. I am surprised to see it only employs 4% of Finishers in Quebec.

Quebec is getting the shaft in terms of hourly wage.
ReplyDeleteIn general big compaines like in Areospace offer bigger wages than smaller independent compaines
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be easier to find work in Quebec with less experience, however the wages start lower.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be less job opportunities for Cabinetmakers or Furniture Finishers in Bc than in Montreal, though the annual pay is better in BC.
ReplyDeleteInteresting how Furniture Finishers in Quebec are projected to have more job market prospects than Cabinetmakers in the next few years.
ReplyDeleteThe conclusion of my research is the following : if I want to optimize my financial gains, I need to move to Alberta for cabinetmaking. That being said, I don't particularly want to optimize my financial gains. So I will probably stay in Montreal.

ReplyDeleteIt seems that learning in Quebec is great, and perhaps for gaining work experience throughout the years. That being said, perhaps a more prosperous and successful life and career exist outside of Quebec, in provinces like Ontario and Alberta. Although, living costs need to be looked at.

ReplyDeleteFurniture finishing is a trade that is high in demand and is surprisingly not as well payed as we might think
ReplyDeleteAlthough the pay may not be the best, I'm glad to see the flexibility in the field, from more small-scale/bespoke art pieces to large industrial woodworking. I'm glad that Quebec at least offers a pretty wide range of Cabinetmaking trade jobs or gigs.

ReplyDeleteIt seems as if many workers do part time work in Quebec in this industry which seems as though this trade is very flexible depending on personal needs.
